Original Pieces Still Available

These original handcrafted art pieces are still available at various set prices. The prices range from $200-250. The current task at hand is to raise funds for the plane tickets to study in Rome ($900-950). I am so close to my goal, I can taste it. I am deeply grateful for all those who continue to support me by donating for prints and for the original pieces that have been sold thus far.
I cannot describe the feeling of having this dream for such a long time and to see it finally manifesting right in front of my eyes with the support of friends, family, even friends of friends. I feel truly blessed.
Again, I am currently focused on raising funds for plane tickets, and just to make it interesting, I challenge myself and my peers to raise $900 in 7 days. So this means I need your support in spreading the word, posting the link to my page, emailing the link to friends, and especially donations. New work coming soon!

I never expected the reception of my work to be what it has. That said, it looks like its time for me to get back to the drawing board (quite literally) and bust out some more paintings. Stay tuned...

RomeBound Updates

First and foremost, thank you to the many recent people who have shown me love with this project: Vanessa Broussard, Michael Broussard, Michael Castillo, April Mcnatt, and my family.
Much progress has been made and thanks to those sponsoring me, I will be able to make the deposit this week to hold my spot on the course, which is also about a third of the tuition cost!
There are only a few things left on the RomeBound Necessity Checklist: the remainder of the tuition $1200, the flight, $900-1000, and living expenses $400-450. I am continuing to remain optimistic thanks to the support team I have. With the course date in close view (Feb 6th), time is running out. Thank you friends for your continued love and faith in me.

TEFL School update

I spoke with the rep, Tim today who answered some of my questions regarding the course deposit and success rates. Tim let me know that work is readily available in Italy with the graduates having a 89% success rate in landing work after course completion. Everything looks good so far, application for passport is complete, and the deposit to hold my spot should be made before December 1st. Stay on the look out for more info!

Hello friends & fam bam,
This is your old friend Shaq, dropping a line to say hello. As you know, I'm an aspiring artist, full time mother, and teacher to be. I am filled with a desire to travel the world and touch the minds of young people everywhere and am motivated by a power larger than myself. All this, you may or may not have known about me.
I am currently going through the process of applying for an amazing course that prepares teachers to teach English internationally. The school is called TEFL International (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). It is in Rome, next to the Vatican on Via Ennio Quirino Visconti. TEFL offers a certification that will allow me to teach in over 30 countries worldwide. I start the course in spring, February 6th, to be exact. If you haven't heard already, this is the course I'm referring to when I say I'm going to Rome next year. Saving for this trip began a while ago and has been fierce ever since. The total cost for tuition and accommodations comes out to $2800. Not bad right?

After a considerable amount of reflection, I have decided to part with several of originals from my art pieces by auction to raise the majority of the funds. The bidding begins at $50 for the original pieces. I am also giving prints of any one of several other works (including prints of the originals being auctioned off) for a donation of ANY amount.
